Purpose
Take a text document and translate into magazine spread format: complete with infographics, subheads, and consistent style.
Concept
One moment from the text that caught my eye, was when the author compared a human hypothalamus to the size of an almond. This quirk fact stuck with me, and inspired the comic images found within this piece. I then decided to create a series of icons with this language, in order to bring an absurdity to this article like the kind many of us face when we cannot sleep.
“How to Sleep” Spread
Exercise in type layout over a longer medium, using an article from
The Atlantic as a source of copy. Information design is also highlighted,
along with general illustrational ornamentation to spice up the layout.
